Mughal Potentates of late 18th century the Mint at Najafgarh, located now in East NCR Delhi was most likely controlled by the members of the ‘Mughalia’ faction at the court of Shah Alam II, which included mostly Shia nobility that rose to prominence during the tenure of Mirza Najaf Khan as the emperor’s chief advisor and plenipotentiary. This coin is different from other known coins in having the obverse legend as ‘Fulus Shah Alam Shahi’ (others have Alamshahi Fulus) and the ‘sun’ mark on reverse.
