Shah Alam, Gold 1/2 Hon- Pratapa, 1.70g, Ganjikota Mint (Not listed in KM). Very fine, extremely rare. Ganjikota was an important military strategic fort in South Andhra Pradesh, en route to the province of Payinghat-Karnataka. Soon after the death of Aurangzeb, it became a part of the domains of Sa’datullah Khan, the first Nawab of Arkat. It is likely that this coin is struck during the last days of direct Mughal control, most likely under Zulfiqar Khan or Daud Khan Panni as the Mughal provincial officers.
