The Hiranyakas were a post-Satavahana local dynasty, matrimonially related to the Ikshvakus. They are known more thorugh their large lead coins. This type, struck in alloyed copper, corresponds to the Satavahana and Pallava coins in arsnical copper and might have been struck towards the southern part of the Hiranyaka domains.
