Guptas, Chandra Gupta II, Gold Dinar, 7.73g, Archer type, Obv: King standing facing right, wearing a Dhoti and a sash in Tribhanga pose, with lower body leaning to left and head turned right holding a strung bow in his left hand and an arrow in the other, bow string faces outside, Brahmi legend “Chandra” is written to the outside of bow string, Complete Brahmi legend “Deva Sri Maharajadhiraja sri Chandragupta” around, Rev: Goddess Lakshmi seated cross legged- Mahārājālilāsana posture on lotus, one of her hand which holds a lotus resting on it and the other holding the royal diadem, Brahmi legend “Śrī Vikramaḥ” in the right field and Tamgha in the left (S Kumar# Class III, Variety O). Very beautiful type of Archer Type where King is standing in Tribhanga posture. Present coin bears complete Brahmi legend on both sides which makes this coin exceedingly rare. Extremely fine, exceedingly rare.
