Tipu Sultan, Silver Rupee, 11.43g, Khurshed Sawad (Dharwad) Mint, AM 1218 (retro) Sata/ 8 Sata, plain fields (KM# 96). Extremely fine, exceedingly rare. Khurshed Sawad (The Sun blackend place)-Dharwar, this strongly fortified town was conquered by Haiderali from the Marathas in 1778, and remain under Mysore till 1791, combined forces of British and Marathas reconqckerd this town in 1791, As per The treaty of Seringpattan this town restored to Marathas, coins strucked here by Mysore in Gold, Silver and Copper during 1216 to 1218 only, all coins of Dharwar are very rare except copper are less rare.
