Randhir Singh, Silver Nazarana Rupee, 10.80g, Braj Indrapur Mint, in the name of Muhammad Akbar II, AH 1235/ RY 15, Katar and Star as a Mint mark (KM# 107). Both sides legend with dotted circle. Very fine+, extremely rare.
Nazarana rupees and double rupees of this type were struck by Bharatpur for a short run of 2-3 years after 1819. It is likely they were produced for ceremonial purposes soon after Bharatpur signed a treaty with the British, probably to mark the visits of the British resident.
