Firuz Shah Zafar, Gold Tanka, 11.00g, Hadrat Delhi Mint, Arabic legend on both sides, Obv: “al sultan al a’zam firuz shah zafar ibn firuz shah al sultani”, Rev: “fi zaman al imam amir al mu minin abu abd allah khulidat khilafaatuhu” (G&G# D545). One test hole on reverse otherwise extremely fine+, extremely rare. An exceptionally rare and unique issue of Firuz Shah Zafar, one of the shortest-lived sovereigns of the Delhi Sultanate. His brief accession during the turbulent Tughluq succession crisis of AH 791 is recorded most importantly through his coinage, making these issues valuable historical documents as well as numismatic rarities.
