Post-Gupta Bengal, Kings of Samatata, Vira Jadamarah Gold Dinar,(6.9gms) 2nd-3rd century AD. Obv Kanishka-style King standing facing left, unclear Brahmi legend around; Rev Two Goddesses standing facing right. Unread Brahmi legend at left. This is an extremely rare coin struck in Samatata area and seems to have copied from Kushan coins. Mitchiner has attributed these as the coin of King Vira Zadamarah. However he has not mentioned any coin with double deities. This type still remains unpublished. This is probably the unique type of Samatata series which has double deity. Extremely Fine.
