Saharanpur Mint, Silver, Rupee, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH 1208/35, Nagri Ma in second line on obv, sprig to the left of the RY and Sun & moon symbols between the digits. Unpublished, Extremely Rare. Saharanpur was in the possession of the Sindhias at this time and the initial ‘Ma’ on obverse could well refer to Mahadaji Sindhia. The year in which the coin was struck is also the year of Mahadaji’s death, so it is possible that it was struck just before he died. This is a new type of Saharanpur Rupees, unlisted in Maheshwari & Wiggins.
