Sher Shah Suri, Silver Rupee, 11.41 g, “Mintless” type (Pandua), AH947, Obv: “Sher Shah al-Sultan Khallada Allah Mulkahu” in Persian and “Sri Shershahi” in Devnagari, with AH date, in rectangular border, other titles around, Rev: Shahada and “al-Sultan al-Adil” in rectangular border, names of Caliphs around (Not listed in G&G). Extremely fine, very rare. The coin comes very close in execution and date of issue to the rupees of Pandua mint, listed as G&G789 and 790. However, the mint-name, which is inscribed just below the Shahada is clearly absent here.
