Aurangzeb, Silver Rupee, 11.42g, Azamnagar Mint, RY 50 made into 51 (KM# 300.15). Cleaned, extremely fine, very rare. The fort and town of Belgaum was renamed ‘Azamnagar upon its capture by the Mughal Army under the command of prince ‘Azam Shah. On this coin, there are clear indications that a ‘1’ was engraved right after ‘0’. RY 51 was Aurangzeb’s last RY and he died in a few months into it.
