Gupta, Samudra Gupta, Gold Dinar, 7.55g, “King and Queen” type, Obv: Nimbate king standing holding a standard in one hand in front of a Nimbate Queen, her hand on her hip, offering her a gift (ring?) with the other hand, a crescent between the two figures; Brahmi legend “Chandra Gupta” on either side of the standard, and traces of some letters behind the Queen, Rev: Nimbate goddess, seated on a prostrate lion facing right, holding cornucopia in one hand and a noose in the other; Brahmi legend “Lichchhawayah” to right and a Tamgha in the left field (similar to Altekar Pl.I, no.10).
