Central Maharashtra, Feudatories of Yadavas of Devagiri or Chalukyas / Kalachuris of Kalyana, Gold punch-marked Dinar, 3.61g, Uniface, Nine punches : 5 x Lion; 2 x Kannada letter ‘Shri’; 1 x a dotted ornament and Devanagari legend ”Shri Veecha”?; 1 x Devanagari legend “Madani…” below sun, chhatra and crescent moon. Extremely fine, extremely rare. An unusual coin with elaborate punches with Devanagari legends. It is not certain who struck it but it is very likely to be an issue of a feudatory family in the Central Maharashtra region.
