Akbar, Copper Dam, 19.09g, Kabul Mint, Obv: “Adl Kabul” counter struck in a square shaped cartouche, Rev: Traces of legend. Very fine, very rare. These coins appear to be struck from Suri dams intentionally effaced to remove the names of Suri rulers and then counter stamped with the cartouches. Since there was no Suri Mint in the vicinity of Kabul, it is plausible that these were exported from India and stamped locally.
