Bhopal / Gwalior ?, Copper, 16.17g, “Pindari” style, with countermark ‘Islamnagar’ and a small sword on obverse. Very fine, very rare. Coins of this fabric are often associated with itinerant minting activity undertaken by the Pindari bands across Central India. The mints were operated practically without any authority and the resultant coins were made available for small transactions.
