Akbar, Copper 1/2 Damri- 1/16 dam, 1.15g, Lahore Mint, Ilahi Month Tir, Year 44. Uncleaned, very fine for type, extremely rare. Copper coins of Akbar were strucked in Dam and Tanka series with their different subsequent lower denominations. A. Liddle recorded Dam, Adhela (1/2 Dam), Paula (1/4 Dam) and Damri (1/8 Dam) but 1/2 Damri is not recorded in his book or nor in any other records known to auctioneer. Great rarity.
