Shams al din Muhammad Ghazi, Silver, 11.57g, Arkan Mint, AH 962, Obv: Persian legend “Muhammad Shah ghazi khallada allah mulkahu wa sultanhu & shams al dunya wa’l din abu’l muzaffar” in margin, Rev: Kalima (G&G# B960). Extremely fine, very rare. The weakening of Suri power the Governor of Bengal assumed independence with the title Shams al din Muhammad Ghazi. His coins were strucked on the rupee standard with the mint name Arkan but most probably they were struck at Lakhnauti & Chunar & they are all very rare.
