Paramaras of Vidarbha?, Gold Punch Marked Gadyana, 3.69g, with 9 punches – 5 x lions (struck from worn dies), 2 x Kannada letter ‘Shri’ and 2 x ‘fish’-like symbols. Very fine, extremely rare. In 13th century the most powerful feudatory authority in the area was the Paramaras of Vidarbha who launched many punitive expeditions into Andhra and Telangana regions against the Kakatiyas of Warangal. Although this coin does not bear any legends, it is most likely to be a Paramara issue. The coin was said to have been found near Dhamtari on the Andhra - Chhattisgarh border.
