Vrishni coins of this type were first reported by Handa and Swami Omananda Saraswati from sites like Sunet near Ludhiana in Punjab. On the coins published by Handa the legend was not very clear, but here it is clearly read as ‘Jayasamstha’, with an anuswara on the letter Sa. A number of personal names with highly Sansktized renderings are known on these coins and Jayasamstha appears to be one of them.
