Post Guptas, Brahmagupta, Terracotta Sealing, 3.10g, Uniface, Brahmi legend “Brahmagutasa”, struck twice. This sealing carries the stamp of a local ruler or official called Brahmagupta. This type of sealing was used in ancient India to authenticate goods being transported, to ensure that local taxes or tolls were paid. Interestingly, this is stamped twice, which is quite hard to find. Rare and interesting.
