Nolambas of South, Central Karnataka possibly attributed to Iriva Nolamba II, Gold Punch Marked Gadyana, 3.66g, Uniface, Obv: Nine punches - 5x Nandi seated facing left, 2x Kannada letters “Shri”, 1x Ankush symbol, 1x Kannada legend “...(x)ka kara”. Extremely fine, extremely rare.The Nolamba ruler Nanni Nolamba was succeeded by Mahendra II who was in turn succeeded by a minor ruler, Iriva Nolamba II who was also known as ‘Ghateyankakara’. Most likely the last three letters of this name are the ones seen on this coin. It is therefore tentatively attributed to Iriva Nolamba II.
