Pradhan was the first signatory on Hyderabad notes who was not from the Nizam Government. He was an ICS officer from Bombay and was appointed as the additional Chief Civil Administrator under the Military Government of Hyderabad (established after the ‘Operation Polo’) lead by Major General J N Chaudhuri. He also held portfolios of Finance & Revenue, Commerce and Industry. This (Military) Government’s tenure was less than 16 months, from September 1948 to December 1949, post which a Civil Government under Chief Minister M.K. Vellodi was appointed on 26th January 1950. Notes bearing the signature of D.R. Pradhan are exceedingly rare in any grade. Note on offer is extremely fine+ so exceedingly rare.
