Gwalior State- Ishagarh, Copper, Chapras badge, Devnagari & Persian legend, Snake on right. Very fine. The original name of Ishagarh was “Ondila- Unda” until 1808, when Dujan Lal Khichi conquered it from the ahirs and renamed it “Bahadurgarh”. But only after 3 years in 1811, Jean Baptiste Filose captured the town and renamed it Ishagarh meaning the “Fort of Jujus”.
