Satavahanas, Nasik region, in the name of Siri Satakani (c.20BC – 20AD), Alloyed Copper, 5.34g, “Elephant” type, Obv: Elephant with trunk raised walking to right, Ujjain symbol above; Brahmi legend “… Satakanisa” above, Rev: Tree with drop-shaped leaves in a railing. Very fine, extremely rare. Although the coin is struck in the name ‘Satakani’, it is most likely to be an issue of either Kochhiputa or Kosikiputa Siri Satakani, as suggested by its typological context. The execution of the tree on reverse is very similar to the issues of Kochhiputa Satakani and Kshaharata Kshatrapa Nahapana.
