Pune- Muhiabad, Silver 1/8 Rupee- 2 Annas, 1.22g, “Ankusi” type, in the name of Shah Alam II. Very fine, extremely rare. The ‘Ankusi’ type coinage became the mainstay of currency in Western Maharashtra in the late Peshwa period, because it was officially accepted by the Peshwa’s treasury for government dues. All fractional issues are scarce.
