Very fine, extremely rare. Vasithiputa Siri Chhimuka, the progenitor of the Satavahana dynasty, is mainly known from his ‘elephant’ type coins from Newase-Paithan region. However, the other most numerous type from this region is the ‘bull’ type, which is known bearing the legends ‘Satavahana’ and ‘Satakani’. As this coin demonstrates, we have evidence that both these were initiated under Chhimuka.
