Satavahanas, Nasik region, Kosikiputa Siri Satakani (c.10BC-10AD), Alloyed Copper, 3.69g, “Elephant” type, Obv: Elephant standing with raised trunk facing right, amphora on the back and wavy line below, Brahmi legend “Raño Kosikiputasa Siri Satakanisa” around, Rev: Tree-in-railing with a distinct design, having drooping leaves. Very fine+, extremely rare. No coins of Kosikiputa Siri Satakani of the Nasik Elephant type were documented before. This coin is typologically very similar to the issues of Kochhiputa Satakani, Gotamiputa Siri Satakani and the Kshaharata Kshatrapa Nahapana, suggesting a close chronological alignment between these rulers.
