Unknown city state in northern India, Copper, 0.99g, Obverse: Brahmi legend “Shosheniye” arranged clockwise, Reverse: Crescent (Not listed in any catalogue). Very rare. This rare type was earlier misattributed to a Kausambi trade guild. However, the legend Shosheniye indicates it was issued by a hitherto unknown city called Shosheni.
