Kushans, Kanishka, Copper Tetradrachm, 17.33g, “Buddha”, Obv: King standing facing left, holding standard, sacrificing over altar to left, Rev: Maitreya Buddha seated cross-legged facing on stool, one hand raised in gesture of Abhayamudrā and holding kamanḍalu (water pot) in the other, traces of Bactrian legend near the face to left and tamgha to right (Goebl 790). Patinated, extremely fine for type, extremely rare.
