Ibrahim Shah Suri, Silver Rupee, 11.55g, Dar al-Zarb Muqam Shahr Banaras Mint, AH 962 ?, Obv: Arebic Legend “Abu al-Muzaffar Sayyid Sultan Ibrahim Ghazi, names of the Rashidoon caliphs” in rectangular border and their titles in margins, Rev: Arebic Legend “Khallada Allah Mulkahu wa Saltanahu wa 'Ala Amrahu wa Shanahu” in rectangular border, Mint name in outer borders (G&G# D1161). Very fine+, extremely rare. Ibrahim Shah was a second cousin and a brother-in-law of Muhammad ‘Adil Shah. While Muhammad ‘Adil was putting down a rebellion in Malwa, he revolted against the Sultan and declared himself independent, controlling areas around the Ganges plains.
