Feudatories of Vishnukundins, The Rama-Kashyapa gotri rulers of Pishtapura (Peethapuram, Eastern Andhra Pradesh), Prithvimaharaja, Alloyed Copper Unit, 3.50g, Obv: Roaring Vishnukundin-style lion facing right, small Shrivatsa above its back and Brahmi legend “Shri Rama”, Rev: Sankha shell between two lampstands within a rayed circle. Very fine+, extremely rare. The Rama-Kashyapa gotri rulers were part of a confederacy of feudatories set up towards the end of the Vishnukundin rule. They were followed by Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi.
