Ancient Gujarat, Personal Gold Signet Seal, 0.31g, with Brahmi legend “Sharavanāya शरवणाय” in scalloped border, with two brackets attached at the back, Gupta-Kshatrapa period. Extremely fine, rare. The grammar of the inscription suggests that the owner of this seal was a woman. Highly unusual as such.

Extremely fine, very rare. Suddodhana Father of the Lord Buddha was chief of Shakya’s. Their capital was known as Kapilavastu. Lumbini _ Vana the birth place of the Lord Buddha can be identified with Rummin _ Dei is located around 10 miles to the east of Kapilavastu.

City State Bhadravati, Copper, 5.55g, Obv: Elephant to right, Ujjain symbol above, Rev: Tree-in-railing in centre with Brahmi legend “Bhadavatiye (faintly visible)” in the right field (Piper# 2464). About very fine, very rare. Bhadravati, modern Bhandakji is situated in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra State. Having very important place in the history of ancient India, many references of this historic city are found in the Puranic, Buddhist & Jain literature. The most interesting among these is the mention of an International Boudh Dhhama Sabha (Buddhist Religious Convention), hosted by the city some 2000 years ago.
