Mumbai, Gold Mohur, 11.48g, in the name of Alamgir II, RY 9, Persian legend on both sides, Obv: “Sikka Mubarak, Badshah ghazi Alamgir”, Rev: “Zarb Munbai sanah 9, julus maimanat manus” (Prid# 8, P Steven# 2.76). Extremely fine for type, extremely rare. The Bombay council succeeded in 1717 to strike Mughal style coinage with the Mint name Munbai. Gold coins struck in the style of Silver Rupee but they were struck in very small numbers & are extremely rare.
