Fort St. Gorge, Gold Pagoda, 3.40g, Obv: Lord Veenkateshwara standing within dotted circle, Rev: Granulated field (P Steven# 1.2). Almost uncirculated, very rare in this grade. Fort St. Gorge Mint Established in 1643, coins in all three Metals were struck copied the types struck in the area at that time. These coins continued issued until new Mint was built in 1806. This was the standard Gold coin of East India Company for many years. Easily confused with Dutch Pagodas.
