Cleaned, very fine, extremely rare. The title Shahenshah-i Umūm is unique for this type of Sawai rupees, struck at Lahore. It testifies to the lofty ideals of Jahangir who saw himself not just as a king of his own domain but also as a ‘Universal monarch’, a concept close to the Indian ideal of ‘Chakravarti’.
