Kushans, Vasudeva I, Gold Dinar, 7.87g,Subsidiary Mint in Gandhara (Peshawar?), Obv: Vasudeva, nimbate, standing facing, head to left, sacrificing over altar and holding trident, flames at right shoulder, filleted trident to left, Bactrian legend “ShAONANO ShAO BAZODEO” around, Rev: Lord Shiva standing facing, holding diadem and trident, reclining against the bull Nandi facing left, tamgha to upper left and Bactrian legend “OEShO” to right (Göbl# 429). Extremely fine, extremely rare. This variety has a truncated legend on the obverse where the word ‘Koshano’ is omitted. This is a very rare and unusual variety of Vasudeva I’s coins.
